In the north garden behind the main building—planted with flowers and trees for every season—you can enjoy the vivid reds, oranges, and yellows of autumn foliage. On the shore of a historic pond, surrounded by five traditional tea houses (including one originally built in Kyoto about 400 years ago), watch for ducks and other wild birds.
