SUMMARY:[Autumn Foliage Viewing] Fukiware Falls Peak Season
DESCRIPTION:Fukiware Gorge\, often called the 'Niagara of the East\,' features a dramatic waterfall seven meters high and thirty meters wide. The walking paths and viewpoints offer breathtaking scenery of the gorge and its vibrant autumn leaves. The towering Hannya Rock gets its name from its resemblance to a traditional Noh mask\, said to stand watch over the falls. The Ukishima Kannon Hall is home to the Ukishima Nyoirin Kannon\, believed to be crafted by the renowned artisan Hidari Jingorō\, who also created the famous 'Sleeping Cat' of Nikko Toshogu Shrine. Visitors can also receive commemorative stamps here (please contact in advance for availability on weekends and holidays).\n\nhttp://www.city.numata.gunma.jp/kanko/fukiware/index.html
