Mount Shiroyama refers to the southeastern mountains near Lake Sagami and is a popular and accessible hiking destination. On the way to the summit, visitors can stop at Kenkyoji Temple, which holds the remains of poet Byakuren Yanagihara. The temple grounds feature unique rock formations, ancient trees such as the Hebiki cedar and a giant ginkgo (one of Kanagawa’s 100 Famous Trees). In autumn, the entire mountain is covered in vibrant foliage, offering stunning seasonal scenery.
