SUMMARY:Autumn Foliage of the Great Ginkgo Tree in Asahicho
DESCRIPTION:This approximately 400-year-old giant tree once stood within the grounds of Utsunomiya Castle in Tochigi Prefecture. Though it was damaged by air raids\, it sprouted new shoots the following year and became a symbol of Utsunomiya’s recovery. It is designated as a Natural Monument of Utsunomiya City. A walking path is maintained around the site\, attracting visitors who enjoy strolling and taking photos with their smartphones. The tree turns a brilliant gold in the fall\, with its peak viewing period typically from early to mid-November.\n\nhttps://www.utsunomiya-cvb.org/spot/detail_10049.html
