Located on the shore of Lake Chuzenji in Nikko, the buildings within the Former Italian Embassy Villa Memorial Park were originally constructed in 1928 as the summer villa for the Italian ambassador and were used by successive ambassadors until 1997. Today, visitors can tour the restored main residence, which uses as many original materials like floorboards, fittings, and furniture as possible, as well as the annex, which houses the International Summer Resort History Museum. The park offers stunning views of Lake Chuzenji and, from mid-October, visitors can enjoy the beautiful autumn colors.
