Kencho-ji Temple is the main temple of the Rinzai sect and holds the highest rank among the five great Zen temples of Kamakura. In autumn, visitors can enjoy vibrant fall colors, especially around the Hansobo area at the back of the temple grounds, creating a tranquil and healing atmosphere. Hansobo also serves as the starting point of the 4-kilometer Ten-en hiking trail, which connects to other temples such as Zuisen-ji. The best time to see the autumn leaves is typically from mid-November to late December.
