Nestled in a valley where the Kinugawa and Ojikagawa rivers meet in Tochigi Prefecture, this hot spring town is surrounded by mountains. Each year from mid-October to mid-November, beech and oak trees turn vibrant colors, delighting visitors. The view from the Kaerigaeri Pool is especially popular for its sweeping vistas of red and yellow mountains. A well-maintained walking path also leads to the scenic Ryuo Gorge, providing opportunities for strolls and trekking while enjoying the fresh forest scent and the sound of flowing water.
