Katsushika Hachiman Shrine, founded during the Heian period as the main guardian shrine of the Shimousa region, is home to the towering 'Thousand Trunk Ginkgo' next to its main hall, designated a National Natural Monument. In autumn, the sacred tree turns a brilliant gold, creating a breathtaking sight. Peak autumn colors are typically from late November to early December. The ginkgo-lined approach to the shrine is also a highlight.
