Located in Ibaraki Prefecture, Eigenji Temple was founded in 1446 and is a Soto Zen temple dedicated to Benzaiten, the deity of the arts. It is the seventh stop on the Daigo Seven Lucky Gods pilgrimage. Known as the 'Maple Temple,' Eigenji is famed for its spectacular autumn colors. During the foliage season, the temple grounds are covered in vibrant red and yellow maples, creating a breathtaking scene reminiscent of Kyoto’s autumn beauty. Leaves begin to change color in late October, and the best viewing period is from early to mid-November.
