This historic festival began in 1952 in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and has become a local tradition, held over ten times throughout the year, not just in summer. The venue, Atami Bay, is surrounded by mountains on three sides, creating a natural amphitheater that amplifies the sounds of the fireworks launched from the water, resulting in stadium-like acoustics.
