Located in the northeast of Taito City, the Asakusa North Kotobuki Shopping Street was one of the first to open after World War II. Nearby sights include Myokame Mound, known from the classical Japanese plays 'Sumidagawa,' a large 'Ghost Jizo' statue about four meters tall, and the grave of Gennai Hiraga, famed Edo-era inventor. The festival will feature food stalls, traditional fair games for children, stage performances, and more. Karaoke contest participants are being recruited; call the organizers if you wish to join (application deadline November 4).
