This is a popular calligraphy course held over eight sessions, taught by master calligrapher Masahiko Ishizaka. You’re welcome to join for a single class or start in the middle of the series. Beginners and those without calligraphy tools can borrow a basic set, making participation easy for all. This session focuses on “Learning Cursive Script”—a writing style still partially in use today, known for its many abbreviations that often make it hard to read, but its form is fascinating. At BIOTOPIA, these art workshops are offered with a focus on art and relaxation, taught by exhibiting artists from the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition.
