SUMMARY:Special Exhibition: 100th Anniversary of Shozo Sugihara's Passing – Comprehensive Studies of Japanese Swords: Exploring the History of Japanese Swords through Interdisciplinary Research
DESCRIPTION:Japanese swords are believed to have originated around the mid-Heian period\, and their study dates back to sword manuals from the Kamakura era. In modern times\, research has developed with a focus on swords as works of art\, as well as from archaeological and cultural asset perspectives\, leading to interdisciplinary approaches. This exhibition commemorates the 100th anniversary of Shozo Sugihara\, the first to lecture on swords at Kokugakuin University and to recognize the sword Yamambagiri Kunihiro. The exhibition traces the achievements of alumni researchers in the field of sword studies and presents the latest research findings\, including scientific analyses.\n\nhttps://museum.kokugakuin.ac.jp/special_exhibition/detail/2026_toukengaku.html
